What Happened to the Towergate Name
The change took place in stages. Insurance Age reported on 22 January 2025 that Ardonagh Advisory would be renamed Everywhen, with client-facing brands including Towergate set to switch in a second phase running into 2026. The owner's later announcement says Everywhen replaced Ardonagh Advisory as the platform name in May 2025.
The same announcement says the rollout to offices, digital channels and client communications began on 17 November 2025, and that the general insurance businesses began trading under the new brand that week. It lists Towergate Insurance among the legacy brands. It does not say what the change means for existing policies, contracts or regulated entities, so we do not say either.

The so what: a policy bought under the Towergate name may still carry that name in its documents. The step is to read your own schedule and terms of business and note which firm it names.
What the Everywhen Public Liability Page Says
We opened the page that Towergate's own address now leads to. It carries no date apart from a 2026 copyright line. It says public liability protects a business when a member of the public holds it responsible for injury or property damage caused by negligence, and that cover can pay legal defence costs. It names one common exclusion, damage to property being worked upon.
The page also says its panel allows you to compare up to nine quotes from business insurers, and does not name them. That matters for your documents. A panel means the insurer on a schedule can differ from the name on the website, so the schedule is the place to find out. An Everywhen article dated 6 September 2024 lists type of business, size and turnover, level of cover, premises and claims history as pricing factors. It is commercial and predates the rebrand. Our cost guide owns the factors in full.
Who Is the Regulated Firm Behind the Name
The page's footer says Everywhen is a trading name of Advisory Insurance Brokers Limited and Health and Protection Solutions Limited, both authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. It gives company numbers but no FCA reference numbers, and it points readers to the FCA register. We did not open the register entries.
The FCA says its register shows whether firms are authorised and what they may offer, on a page last updated on 22 September 2026. Search for the exact firm name on your documents. If your policy names a company we have not listed, check that one too. Our providers guide explains the roles of insurers, brokers and comparison sites.
What to Check in the Wording
Whatever the brand, the wording decides what is paid. Our what is it guide explains the cover, and our certificate guide explains the proof you may be asked to show. The checks below apply to any quote.
- Which insurer is named on the schedule, and which firm arranged it?
- What is the limit, and is it per claim, per event or in the aggregate?
- Is damage to property you are working on excluded, as the page says is common?
- Does the business description include all of your work?
- Is employers' liability separate, and do you need it?
The third question can matter for trades that work on a client's own property. Gov.uk says most employers need at least £5 million of employers' liability, which public liability does not provide. The takeaway: get written answers before you pay, and keep them with the policy.
Complaints, Checks and What We Could Not Confirm
If you need to complain, contact the firm named in your documents first. You can then go to the Financial Ombudsman Service within 6 months of the final response, subject to its size tests. We could not open Everywhen's complaints page, so we do not describe its procedure.
We found no source on what the rename means for policies bought under the Towergate name, and we did not verify which insurers sit on the panel. We did not open the FCA register entries, and we have not checked Scotland and Wales separately. Verify every product detail on the firm's own pages and in your documents.
